About the Founding of the Little Yellow Bird Foundation

The Little Yellow Bird Foundation was founded on August 27, 2019, by Ashley Morabito, inspired by a legacy of compassion and service established by her grandfather, Dr. Peter A. Morabito, DDS. Known for his generous heart, Dr. Morabito instilled a family tradition of helping those in need.

This spirit of giving deepened after Hurricane Katrina, when Ashley’s father, Dr. Robert Morabito, felt a divine calling to “GO!” This pivotal moment ignited their family’s passion for serving others, leading them to participate in both international and domestic aid trips. Over the years, they have provided support and care in places like El Salvador, Jamaica, Peru, Haiti, and Wise, Virginia.

Initially, these trips were self-funded with limited fundraising. However, the desire to continue making an impact year after year inspired the creation of the Little Yellow Bird Foundation.

The Little Yellow Bird Foundation, Inc. is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
